Summer is the movement of the Fire element which is outwards, a source of warmth and light and a means of protection. During this time of the year we engender towards community and social contact, become more expansive, both physically and emotionally with more activity in the heart centre.

Incorporating yoga & qigong practices that harmonize with the summer energy. Yoqi Flow Summer offers a holistic approach to align the essence of the season. Through mindful movement, breathwork, self-care-acupressure, and meditation, the participant can tap into the vitality of the Fire element and cultivate a sense of inner harmony.
Summer is the season that correlates to the heart and small intestine organ system. The heart sets the steady rhythm of our life, we increase the flow of heat, blood and Qi; the small intestine has the ability to separate ‘pure’ and ‘impure’ bringing clarity and ethical decision making. Both work together to heal the heart, spirit, mind and body.
Cultivating Emotional Health during summer
The natural emotion is joy, summer is the highest point of the cycle, so we expect to be bursting with joy, it’s the time associated with dance and parties, music and all outward moving expressions of an inner feeling of well-being. It can also be a time where we feel most challenged, being out of control, overexcited even hysteric, or feeling the imbalance by joylessness, depression and separation. At its extreme, it causes to push the boundaries, and produces difficulties in personal relationships.
When the heart is in a state of balance the body does not need to do anything except to beat and to BE.
When the fire element is in balance we navigate our real needs for connectedness and separateness, both issues of loving and being loved are in harmony.
The YoQi Program caters to individuals of all age groups and physical capacities, with a particular emphasis on aiding those with previous injuries and discomfort. The exercises are gentle and calming, offering relief from stress and tension.
